Chris is a Principal in Onside Law’s Australian team, advising on employment and general commercial matters. He merged his legal practice with Onside Law in 2023. Chris commenced his legal career at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in Sydney and has held senior legal roles in sports and entertainment broadcasting and in private practice.

Chris has practised law for over 15 years. His practice includes all aspects of Australian employment law (with a particular expertise in the sports, media, entertainment and fashion industries), the engagement of on-screen talent by broadcasters and streaming services, compliance, equal opportunity, legal matters involving athletes, players and coaches as well as general commercial agreements and related issues, including MSAs, sponsorship agreements, production agreements and other commercial legal matters. Chris also advises in relation to corporate M&A transactions involving Australian assets in the sports and entertainment sectors.

Clients include Foxtel Group (part of the DAZN group) including FOX SPORTS Australia, Kayo Sports, Foxtel Media and BINGE), IPG Mediabrands, Rugby Australia, Two Palms Media, Aje Collective and Oroton.

Chris has been listed by Doyles Guide and he regularly presents at industry conferences and universities. He has been published in sports, HR and legal press, regularly volunteers for the Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association and undertakes pro bono work for coaches and athletes.

Outside of work, Chris can be found playing with his kids, surfing, watching his beloved Parramatta Eels in the NRL and spending too much time on NFL fantasy football.
