Karen is Onside Law’s first COO, responsible for managing the firm’s operations. Karen is also a lawyer, working in the media sector. She qualified into the corporate team at leading city law firm, Freshfields, and subsequently spent 10 years working at Sky, first at Sky Sports where she worked on major broadcast rights deals, and then for the Sky entertainment channels in both acquisitions and commissioning. Karen held Head of Legal roles in scripted television production in London at both Fremantle UK and Objective Media Group. More recently she has worked as a business affairs consultant for a number of UK scripted television producers, including Big Talk and Carnival Film and TV (notable recent credit on The Day of the Jackal).
Karen is an enthusiastic participant in many sports. She achieved a rowing blue at Oxford, and coached rowing in South Africa for a year after university. Last year she dusted off her oars and rowed with OUBC alumnae in the Head of the Charles regatta in Cambridge, MA. She enjoys cycling (having recently taken part in a London to Paris dash with her children’s school) and playing tennis and padel. On holiday, you will find her skiing or sailing with her family.
