Ben specialises in M&A, sports and media business investments (including EIS and SEIS), private equity and venture capital, fundraisings, joint ventures, ownership structures, corporate governance and other general company matters. Prior to joining Onside Law, Ben spent 7 years at Travers Smith, having trained at Eversheds.

Ben has recently advised on various high profile deals in sport, including the purchase of Ospreys Rugby and the sale of TRM Partners to Two Circles.

Since joining Onside Law, Ben has advised on the acquisition of Ospreys Rugby by Y11 Sport and Media, the disposal of TRM Partners to Two Circles (backed by Bruin Sports Capital), the sale of a significant minority stake in LeMieux to LDC and the hive out of the Tennis Integrity Unit to the newly incorporated International Tennis Integrity Agency. He regularly advises high-profile athletes (including Tommy Fleetwood, Luka Doncic and Nick Faldo) on endorsement agreements involving equity offerings. He also advised on corporate governance matters involving the EPCR, Premiership Rugby and ECB and other governing bodies.

He was made up as a Partner in September 2021.

He has prior experience working on a wide range of UK and cross-border corporate transactions, including private equity investments, private M&A, public takeovers, fundraisings, joint ventures, reorganisations and restructurings. 

Away from his desk, Ben enjoys spending time with his growing family, building golf clubs (badly) and getting progressively worse at golf.
