Ben specialises in M&A and investments in sport, media and entertainment. In particular, he has expert knowledge of private equity and venture capital, founder exits, funding rounds, ownership structures and corporate governance. Prior to joining Onside Law, Ben was at Travers Smith.

Ben has recently advised on various high profile deals in sport, including the purchase of LiveWire Sport by Two Circles and Chris Bake’s investment in the Great Britain SailGP Team.

Recently, Ben advised Two Circles on the acquisition of LiveWire Sport, Y11 Sport & Media on its investment in the Hurricanes, the founders of LeMieux on the sale of a significant stake to LDC and Chris Bake on his investment in the Great Britain SailGP Team. He also advised high-profile athletes (including Tommy Fleetwood, Luka Dončić and Nick Faldo) on taking equity stakes. Ben is also at the forefront of exploring new crypto and Web3 ownership models in sport.

He was made up as a Partner in September 2021.

Ben has prior experience working on a wide range of UK and cross-border corporate transactions, including private equity investments, private M&A, public takeovers, fundraisings, joint ventures, reorganisations and restructurings. 

Away from his desk, Ben enjoys spending time with his growing family and hacking his way around a golf course.
