Sophie is a partner specialising in commercial, intellectual property and data protection. She joined Onside Law in 2016, prior to which, she spent five years at Macfarlanes where she worked in the commercial department and advised on a wide range of complex commercial and corporate transactions.

Sophie has significant experience advising on staging and licensing agreements for major events (including for European Athletics, the FIA, FIFA, ECB, SRO Motorsports, World Rugby and for the revamped Davis Cup competition) and in connection with broadcasting and media rights, both from a rights’ holder and broadcaster perspective (notably for ATP Media, Sunset+Vine and International Sports Broadcasting).
Sophie has particular expertise in data protection, advising various governing bodies, sports integrity units and other commercial clients on complex data protection issues.
Sophie is a key member of the team leading the relationship with FIFA and the FIA.
Sophie used to play tennis full time and still enjoys playing tennis socially but now turns more of her attention to her newfound love – surfing. Outside of sport, she has a keen interest for house renovation.
