Jon Morgan promoted to Partner

Jon specialises in both competition and commercial law in the sports sector and has been instrumental in developing the firm’s competition law practice.

He advises sports governing bodies, rightsholders and other sport businesses on a wide range of competition law-related matters, including in relation to tender processes for the centralised selling and distribution of broadcasting and other commercial rights, the sanctioning of new events and other competition law issues and challenges relating to sports regulation. Given the intersect between his practice areas, Jon has particular experience advising on competition law issues that arise in the context of commercial contracts. Jon also supports clients on a range of their commercial opportunities, with a focus on major event hosting projects and complex sponsorship deals. In recent years he has advised clients on some of the world’s largest sporting events.

Prior to joining Onside Law, Jon undertook a number of secondments to Brussels in connection with his competition law practice, including an internship with the European Commission’s Legal Service advising DG Competition.
